PARTIES & EVENTS

Coyote Creek hosts the following parties & events:

  • Halloween Party - Oct
  • Thanksgiving Feast (K only) - Nov
  • Heritage Celebration (grades 2-5) - Dec
  • 100th Day of School (K only) - Feb
  • Valentine's Day Party - Feb
  • Field Day (grades 1-5) &/or Year End Party - Jun

After meeting with your classroom teacher regarding a party, create a list of items to be donated for the party. Next, invite parents to attend the party and sign up to donate items via email, Sign Up Genius website, or another website you use to help manage classroom activities such as Shutterfly. Noted below are some party ideas to get your creative juices flowing. You are welcome to borrow these ideas or come up with your own ideas. Finally, please respect your classroom's allergy policy and remember never to decorate with balloons.

MONEY COLLECTION

Room Parents should NOT collect money for classroom parties, field trips, or Staff Appreciation Week. Parties and filed trips are classroom specific events in which the Room Parent offers assistance to the teacher by coordinating donations of food, drink, crafts, etc., or organizing field trip drivers. For  Staff Appreciation Week, Room Parents are simply asked to support the PTA's outlined agenda for the week.

Teacher Gifts

Birthday (or Half Birthday), Winter Holiday (December) and Year End (June) gifts for the teacher can be a time to collect money since it is a personal gift for the teacher.  As Room Parent, you can set the tone. A form letter/template is available on the PTA/Room Parent section of the website for wording if you choose to collect for these gifts. In any email or written flyer, always indicate that this is an optional participation and parents are free to do an individual gift without recourse or notification that they have not yet paid.
